One of the first questions any football viewer will ask right now is who’s the best player. Despite being a straightforward question, one can never correctly answer it due to continual fluctuations in game schedules, players’ fitness, and the emergence of new players.
However, considering the stats and this year’s overall performance, we’ve compiled a list of the top three players every football fan must look forward to seeing this season.
Lionel Messi, also known as La Pulga Atómica, has always been the number-one player. In fact, the 33-year-old’s name has remained on top for more than ten years and continues to thrive. He’s a significant part of the majority of football’s sensational news, stats, and seasons.
While he missed Barcelona’s initial games due to his injury, he’s successfully on his way to becoming La Liga’s highest scorers. He’ll receive this title for the seventh time after scoring 22 goals so far.
The legendary player also broke his personal record of 18 goals within a season with 20 assists in the Premier League. He has made around 42 goals in 30 league games, which is a massive achievement.
As anticipated, Christiano Ronaldo always remains at the top of the list due to its unbeatable numbers of goals. The 35-year-old player played a significant role in more than half of Juventus’ overall performance this season.
He scored 28 goals and six assists within 28 league games. His total league contributions are 29 goals, making him the star player for Juventus. The player also successfully won the Champions League trophy with both his former teams.
Neymar Jr. is third on the top players’ list because of his unfortunate struggle with his injury and inability to play due to the Ligue’s decision to wrap up the season earlier than expected. However, this Brazilian winger shows outstanding performance when he’s fit.
The player was able to record 13 goals with six assists within 15 league games this season. His total record in 22 games is 18 goals and ten assists. Despite struggling to play in a fully fit state in any of his three seasons, Neymar has shown a world-class performance on the field.
However, the player still has to combat his injuries to defeat players like Ronaldo and Messi.
